T-Mobile achieves 1.3Gbps download speeds using License Assisted Access

T-Mobile have achieved another network speed milestone. T-Mobile and Nokia hit download speeds of 1.3Gbps this week using commercial Nokia tech with License Assisted Access (LAA). The testing was done at T-Mo’s lab in Bellevue, Wash. The equipment used in the test included Nokia’s AirScale MicroRRH connected to an AirScale module system. T-Mobile requests FCC permission to conduct 3.5GHz equipment tests

T-Mobile is interested in run some 3.5GHz tests. T-Mobile recently submitted an application for special temporary authority with the FCC, requesting permission to operate in the 3.5GHz band. If there’s one thing we’re short on in the world of T-Mobile devices, it’s big Windows Phones. But, there’s a small glimmer of hope shining from FCC filings which could indicate that’s about to change.
