We’ve dropped the leaked shots, and the Mr. Blurry cam images, now its time for the in-the-flesh hands-on video of the upcoming Huawei myTouch QWERTY smartphone heading to T-Mobile in the coming months. The boys from Engadget happened to be hanging out at Huawei’s headquarters in China when the noticed the Ascend G312 QWERTY device had the “myTouch” label. The non-QWERTY variant wasn’t around, but we do get a small gallery of images and a quick video showing off the newest myTouch hardware.

The new myTouch packs a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T chip, 4″ WVGA screen, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage and microSD expansion, along with features like DLNA connectivity and a five-second fast boot. There is a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera along with a five-megapixel camera on the rear of the device coupled with 720p video recording. The spec sheet indicated the device will arrive with Ice Cream Sandwich however, the test device was running Android 2.3.6.

Engadget reports satisfactory build quality, especially with the spring-loaded slider and joyful keyboard feedback. The screen isn’t the best we’ve seen but provided this phone is geared to be an introductory and family friendly smartphone, we have to set our expectations low.
