T-Mobile had a big day on Twitter, teasing and announcing two new Android phones. While most of us will enjoy the first tease, the second announcement should please some. The elusive Motorola Charm has been officially tweeted, which I guess is as good as an announcement, with a launch date and a coming soon page. You can pick this little guy up on August 25th for $75, which seems reasonable. Now that we … [read full article]
Right after the announcement this morning of the T-Mobile G2 with Google, Scott of Androidguys and I discussed this announcement for a few minutes. In passing though he mentioned to me that he had done a little extra legwork after his recent findings hidden away in the US Trademark office. T-Mobile has apparently gone and grabbed two more trademarks in the form of…drum roll…the “MyTouch HD” and “The Family Network.” Now the MyTouch HD … [read full article]

After making a recent appearance on T-Mobile.com, the folks over at IntoMobile go hands-on with the Motorola Charm. As you might have already noticed, the handset shown in the video above is for the Canadian based carrier, Telus, although we don’t expect any difference between the two. Look for the Charm in a T-Mobile store near you August 25th. Check out the video above, and don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments! IntoMobile
Motorola has really been making a splash in the Android world lately. Unfortunately, all their phones seem to be going to Verizon. Well, aside from the Charm, it looks like we may just see another Motorola phone soon. With the code name of Motorola Jordan (that name sounds familiar), this phone is supposed to be a rugged smartphone coming in Late October. This phone us supposed to be pretty waterproof (up to 10 meters or … [read full article]
Still not having luck with your Vibrant’s GPS signal? Don’t worry then, you should know that you aren’t the only one. Samsung has said that they are working on a fix, but maybe there is a solution that you can try right now. You can try enabling the use of wireless networks (Settings>Location & Security). This should improve your GPS signal when you are in areas with poor GPS signal strength, which is always where you … [read full article]
I’ve often wondered why UMA doesn’t get more playing time in today’s T-Mobile world and, to be honest, it frustrates me. A service so simple, so powerful and yet seemingly avoided on T-Mobile smartphones, save for the Blackberry. I can’t wager as far as to say it’s a hardware problem, or a software problem that prevents T-Mobile and their partner manufacturers from getting this service up and running on Android, Windows or even Nokia smartphones. When I … [read full article]
With Magenta currently leading the mobile speed race with their HSPA+ 21Mbps network, the question is, will they be able to maintain the #1 position, or will they get left behind? Last week, T-Mobile USA’s parent company, Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann stated that its U.S branch will get fourth-generation wireless network either by buying spectrum, re-farming existing spectrum, or potentially leasing spectrum together with others. Obermann also included that their U.S branch has no … [read full article]

I think the question I get asked the most lately is when is “insert Android device name here” getting updated to “insert latest Android software here”. When I say I get asked this the most, I mean it’s usually a more common question than when the next best phone is coming out for T-Mobile. I really want to make this a scolding Motorola post because I think it’s incredibly disheartening and bad form that they have been … [read full article]
We’re just going to piggyback off the most recent posts here and go for a trifecta on guessing just what T-Mobile has in store for us. Those fine folks at Androidguys did a little digging through recent US Trademark filings and came up with some interesting results: · Blaze – May 26th G1 Blaze – May 26th G1 Rocket – May 26th Rocket – May 26th DRIVESMART – June 10th G2 – July … [read full article]
So what do you know? This morning I wake up and gleefully see that HTC has formally invited members of the media world to an event to be held September 15th. There is no indication that is related to a T-Mobile device launch but given the proximity to our supposed T-Mobile G2/HTC Vision/Vanguard launch date, we can’t help but get some hopes up! We know what we want this to be but we can’t get past … [read full article]
