HTC Announces The One, No It’s Not Neo, But It’s Coming To T-Mobile

Welcome back HTC with the introduction of the HTC One this morning at their morning launch event still taking place as I write. HTC’s One smartphone will take on their competition as the company’s newest flagship device with a spec sheet to match. Except HTC is trying something different this time around as its not hyping specs as much as it’s talking up features, especially their new “ultrapixel” camera. HTC’s going “all-in” with camera capabilities … [read full article]

Google Senior VP Promises “Insanely Great Cameras” With Future Nexus Devices

If anyone inside the Google food chain has his pulse on the latest developments in the Nexus world, it’s Google’s Senior Vice President of Engineering, Vic Gundotra. Gundotra is a name that needs no introduction with the die-hard Android crowd as he’s a presence at almost all major Google/Android announcements. That’s why Gundotra’s comments inside his own Google+ posting struck a cord with me today and while the news isn’t specifically T-Mobile related, given that T-Mobile has directly or indirectly supported all previous … [read full article]

Rumor: Samsung Will Announce Galaxy S IV March 14th In New York City

Thanks to an early morning Tweet from Mobile-Review founder Eldar Murtazin, the internet is buzzing that Samsung may announce the Galaxy S IV as early as March 14th in New York City. Murtazin, a long time source for insider news has a mixed track record as of late, so it’s definitely a bit of rumor news we need to take with a grain of salt. Interestingly enough, it was all the way back in September when a Samsung exec allegedly … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s First LTE Mobile Hotspot Pictured In Press Image Glory

While we’re still waiting patiently for T-Mobile’s LTE network to go live, we’re already starting to make a list of the LTE ready devices that will be available come launch day. One such device leaked out earlier this month thanks to a T-Mobile March roadmap as the upcoming “T-Mobile Sonic 2.0 Mobile HotSpot LTE.” Well, here she is in all of her (future) press image glory. Unfortunately, we don’t have any indication as to price, but [read full article]

Another Major MetroPCS Investor Voices Concern Over T-Mobile Merger

metropcs

For the second time this week, another major MetroPCS investor has voiced concern over the terms of the T-Mobile merger. Paulson & Co., the biggest MetroPCS shareholder with an 8.7% stake in the company is said to be withholding its decision on whether to vote for the transaction until it sees the final proxy statement. Paulson says the combined company ““has too much debt, the interest rate on Deutsche Telekom’s debt financing is too high, and the exchange … [read full article]

Google Unveils Nexus 4 Retail Store Locator, Only Works With T-Mobile Stores Right Now

If you’re still trying to hunt down a Nexus 4, perhaps Google’s new Retail Store locator will aid in your search. Google just unveiled the new Nexus 4 store locator tool via Twitter and it’s downright simple to use. Just type in your address and find a Nexus 4 retailer. There’s a catch however as the locator only identifies T-Mobile locations where you can pick up the Nexus 4. A second catch is that the store locator … [read full article]

Oh how we love news of a new smartphone coming to T-Mobile and the HTC M7/One (codename: M7, launch name: One?) would be a beautiful addition to T-Mobile’s Spring lineup. Well, … [read full article]

After a little tease 24 hours ago as Android 4.2.2 started to rollout to the rest of the Nexus Android lineup, the Nexus 4 now has its turn in the software update spotlight. This is the same JDQ39 build as the yesterdays update, and checks in around 54MB. There is a catch however as AnandTech’s Brian Klug has discovered — the Android 4.2.2 OTA update appears to remove LTE band 4 access. That just might … [read full article]

Google Adds Google Now Widget For Android 4.1 Devices And Above

If someone were to ask me the single biggest reason I’d jump back onto an Android device full-time these days, Google Now would be an immediate response. Yes, it’s still new and there’s no doubt Google will add a ton of more features over time, but even if its infancy, Google Now is Google and Android at its best. The addition of a brand new Google Now widget with all of your important Now cards right … [read full article]

Deutsche Telekom Defends MetroPCS Deal Against Shareholder Complaints

As small but influential groups of shareholders openly discuss their discontent with the MetroPCS board and the decision to merge with T-Mobile USA, their parent company defends the deal. Deutsche Telekom’s defense comes as P. Schoenfeld Asset Management disclosed a letter sent to the MetroPCS board at the end of January calling the deal with T-Mobile “unsustainable” and recommending the company remain a stand-alone entity for the time being. For its part, Deutsche Telekom … [read full article]

There’s no word on what the build (JDQ39) entails, but Google did promise a fix to the … [read full article]
