Towards the end of March, T-Mobile launched the landing page for the upcoming Microsoft Lumia 640. The low-end device from the Windows-makers looks set to improve on the 635 of last year, and from my time with it at MWC, it seems to have succeeded. One issue with the landing page, however, was that under the band support, band 12 was mysteriously left out. … [read full article]
Sony just can’t seem to catch a break in the mobile market. Whether it’s because people are no longer excited by the brand, or because of its lack of marketing, the company’s attempts at competing in the mobile industry are a far cry from days gone by. And its presence in the U.S. just took another major hit. T-Mobile confirmed on Twitter last night that it no longer sells the Sony Xperia Z3. @Serotheo The Z3 … [read full article]
Days after we saw the T-Mobile version of the HTC One M9 get unboxed, our own Marco Hanna is pulling the Samsung Galaxy S6 from its packaging. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is a pretty radical departure from previous Samsung flagships, ditching the removable battery, microSD card slot, and plastic construction of previous Galaxy S phones for a metal and glass build. The result is one of the best-looking Samsung smartphones that we’ve seen to … [read full article]
T-Mobile was one of the first carriers to ship its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge units to customers following a pre-sale which kicked off last week. And while devices getting to recipients is generally good news, it seems Samsung may have been a little less diligent in its quality control when producing the smartphones. A thread on XDA-Developers forum has … [read full article]

T-Mobile fan or not, you can’t escape the carrier’s influence on the modern market. Before the company’s Un-carrier moves, the only discussion about network operators were generally complaints about signal strength (or lack of it). It takes something special for people to actually care about a carrier, and take notice of what it’s doing. Having recently launched Uncarrier 9.0, the carrier promises it’s not done yet and is moving confidently forward with its plans to remove customer … [read full article]
We’ve been contacted by a couple of our readers to inform us that the official Android 5.0.1 update for the T-Mobile LG G3 is finally available. As of right now, it’s not an OTA update, but it is – according to our readers – available through the LG mobile support tool. Checking the T-Mobile software updates page reveals that T-Mobile still has it in “testing” mode. One reader sent us a screenshot of his device’s … [read full article]
While some customers are waiting for their pre-ordered HTC One M9’s to arrive, our own Marco Hanna managed to get hold of the T-Mobile variant and unboxed it over on the PhoneDog YouTube channel. So, I figured I’d share it with you guys since my unboxing video showed the unlocked international model. In good light, the gold on silver actually looks pretty classy. With the terrible lighting at MWC last month, it was almost impossible to tell … [read full article]

When T-Mobile kicked off its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge pre-sale a few days ago, it only offered up two color variants: Black or White. In fact, from its wording on the estimate shipping page, it seemed we may not see any other colors for a while. Turns out however, that “coming soon” on T-Mobile’s estimate for the gold platinum model actually meant “coming … [read full article]
It looks like Cleveland, Ohio has its first taste of T-Mobile’s faster LTE solution. Dubbed “Wideband LTE”, the network typically describes LTE with wider lanes for data traffic to flow through. Thanks to a post by Bradillac, a T-Mo fan and Redditor, we know that T-Mobile’s 15+15Mhz Wideband LTE network is now live in the area. Early speed test showed speeds of around 35Mbps down and 20Mbps up, but after a little time, that seems … [read full article]
