T-Mobile Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 getting security updates, Galaxy A6 receiving Android Pie
One day after the Galaxy Note 9 got a software update, a few more Samsung phones have begun getting updates from T-Mobile.
The Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy Note 8 are all receiving security updates. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are getting versions G950USQU5DSD3 and G955USQU5DSD3, respectively, while the Galaxy Note 8 is getting version N950USQU5DSD3.
All three updates include the April 2019 Android security patches. They’re now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews readers Joanna and Curt have both gotten their updates on their Galaxy S8. If you’ve got an S8, S8+, or Note 8 and haven’t yet updated, launch your Settings app and tap on Software update > Download updates manually to check for it.
T-Mobile also recently began pushing an Android 9.0 Pie update to its Samsung Galaxy A6. As spotted by The Android Soul, the update is version A600TUVU1BSD3 and should include Samsung’s new One UI in addition to Pie. If you’ve got a Galaxy A6, use the same method mentioned above to see if you’ve got some Pie waiting for you.
Thanks, Joanna and Curt!
