T-Mobile Galaxy S8 and S8+ receiving software updates ahead of official launch
If you’re one of the lucky folks that got your Galaxy S8 or S8+ before the official release date, then you may want to check your phone for updates.
T-Mobile is now pushing a software update to its Galaxy S8 and S8+ that bumps the phones to version G950USQU1AQD9 and G955USQU1AQD9, respectively. The GS8 update comes in at 395MB, while the GS8+’s update is 392MB.
As for what’s included, GS8 and GS8+ owners can expect improved face recognition performance, a user interface adjustment for the camera, and some security improvements.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ aren’t officially launching until April 21, but we regularly see device makers push software updates before a phone’s launch to make some final improvements and squash last-minute bugs. That appears to be what’s happening here. If you got your GS8 or GS8+ early, you can check for this update by going into Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
Thanks, Danny and Mike!
