Reporter asks about LTE market rollout specifics, especially in regards to MetroPCS markets. T-Mobile responds by stating that rollout is going on in all markets, including current MetroPCS markets. Legere talks about MetroPCS, expressing confidence closing the deal. He emphatically says that it will go through, despite the “greedy hedge funds” trying to “double dip” on profits.

Sievert points to Legere (since Legere uses 50GB regularly) when he says that 50+GB of usage is fine as long as it doesn’t inhibit the network.

Eric: Yes, you don’t have to switch plans. The $579 is the retail price from T-Mobile.

Sievert and Legere state that the limit on tethering to prevent a substitution effect.

Galaxy S3 users typically use about 3GB per month, according to Legere.

Reporter asks about tethering. Sievert responds that tethering is included in all the plans, though there’s a limit for the unthrottled plan (he notes that otherwise it could replace a home internet connection).

Reporter asks about prepaying phone payments. It will be possible (no obligation to, but possible). Over the top (aka from App Store) variant of Wi-Fi Calling will become available, too. No integrated version for iPhones, yet.

T-Mobile will assist in getting locked phones unlocked to bring over to T-Mobile. They’ll even call up former carrier reps to deal with it.

2.1 million former AT&T customers come over to T-Mobile since modernization began.

Another asks about phone locking. Phone unlocking will occur only when phone is paid off or traded back.

Reporter asks what T-Mobile would do if you leave after a month or two after buying a phone. Response: you pay off the device however you’d like, turn it in for trade-in value, etc. Essentially, deal with the phone cost and then you’re done.

Once again, Sievert is showing off the “simplicity” of the plan. He notes that unlimited FaceTime will be available through it. It’s a $1000 less over two years than AT&T.

iPhone 4/4S will not be available everywhere. Sievert says it’ll be available in select channels and select markets. It’s like to be sold only in modernized market areas.

Sievert reiterates that T-Mobile is offering the “simple, best” choice for national 4G service.

Sievert is explaining how a comparable AT&T postpaid plan is double the comparable T-Mobile prepaid/postpaid plan.

Sievert is showing off the brochures of all the different carriers’ plans. “AT&T Nation sounds sinister” he jokes.

50% more bandwidth than AT&T on T-Mobile. This is considerably more meaningful considering T-Mobile has 1/3 of the subscribers.

Legere is off the stage. New guy (Mark Sievert, thanks Travis!), is talking about how LTE is AT&T compatible and likens it to more lanes to a freeway.

He’s hoping the new commercials will become cult commercials.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One for T-Mobile will be available for press to try at the event. Along with the BlackBerry Z10 and the iPhone 5, those two will be $99 with $15-20/mo EIP24.

iPhone 4/4S will not have AWS WCDMA support. It’ll only work on EDGE in non-modernized markets. :(

The lucky people at the event get to try it out today.

iPhone 5 will have HD Voice on T-Mobile.

EIP24 is $20 per month. That means $579 for an iPhone 5 16GB. Cheaper than $650 unlocked model.

He is proud to say that people can upgrade to new Apple products right when they arrive.

He’s now starting to talk about new devices. Finally announcing the iPhone 5 for $99 (with EIP24) on April 12.

He notes postpaid and prepaid don’t necessarily imply contract/contract-free.

He made a rather quick description of the plan in less than 20 seconds. Really enthusiastic in his description. Throwing out statistics about people wanting to upgrade whenever.

Now he talks about Simple Choice plans. Unlimited everything!

He jokes about his cursing, again…

New York will officially launch by the summer. It isn’t launched yet. Network will be accessible by LTE devices anyway.

He brings up MetroPCS. He uses proper conventions for spectrum at least. 2x5MHz for many markets, moving up to 2x10MHz later. Eventually 2x20MHz LTE after MetroPCS spectrum brought in.

He’s talking about HSPA+42 and now telling us the seven cities that have LTE launched. It’s the same seven from earlier.

He notes that people pay way too much with “subsidized phones” and plans.

Titles like “moving from subsidized phones” from press is a “crock of sh*t” according to him.

And now he just stated his email address publicly, saying customers email him anyway. And he talks about his experience listening to many people talking to customer care. It’s disheartening to him.

He’s attacking contracts now. He’s explaining how contracts make people hate the phone they buy after a year.

“Stop the bulls**t” is a common phrase…

He’s now ragging on everyone else. He’s explaining how (as a customer) the experience in purchasing wireless is bad. And he’s cursing, quite a bit.

John Legere is being all sarcastic about people’s doubt on him.
