Today is a big update day for T-Mobile, because in addition to pushing Oreo to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge as well as a security update for the Note 5, T-Mobile has revealed a couple more updates.
First up, T-Mobile’s version of the LG G6 is receiving its Android Oreo update. The update is 1729.8MB in size and is version H87220a. In addition to the bump to Oreo, which includes features like autofill for faster sign in and picture-in-picture, this update includes “various bug fixes and software improvements.”
The LG G6’s update is now going out over the air, but it is on a daily limit in order to prevent network congestion. That means that if you check for the update but the limit has been reached, you’ll have to check again the next day or after July 30th when the limit is lifted.
To check for the LG G6’s update, go into Settings > General tab > About phone > Update Center > System update > Check for update.
Also being updated today is the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. This 118.77MB update bumps the S8 Active to version G892USQS2BRF1 and includes the June 1, 2018 Android security patches.
This Galaxy S8 Active update will also be on a daily limit until July 3rd. You can check for the update by going into Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
Thanks, Glenn and Phil!
