The Galaxy S9 and S9+ may be Samsung’s latest and greatest right now, but there are still plenty of people out there using previous generation Galaxy S devices, and now two of those models are receiving a software update.
T-Mobile says that its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are now receiving updates, and TmoNews reader Rick received his GS7 edge’s update this morning. The Galaxy S7 is being bumped to version G930TUVS4BRC1, while the Galaxy S7 edge is being updated to version G935TUVS4BRC1. Both updates are small, coming in at around 46MB.
As for what’s included, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners can expect the April 2018 Android security patches. Also included are “various bug fixes”.
These updates are now going out over the air, so you should see your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge’s update in the coming days. If you’d rather not wait, you can manually check for the update by going into Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
Thanks, Rick!
