Days after Samsung confirmed that it will show off the Galaxy S8 on March 29, the rumor mill is some showing off of its own.
A new image of the Galaxy S8 has surfaced. It’s a press render of the GS8 that’s been leaked by Evan Blass and appears to confirm many of the device’s rumored features, including a tall display that appears to have curved sides and rounded corners.
Also shown in this leak is a set of sensors above the screen, likely including a front-facing camera and iris scanner, and buttons on the side for volume, power/lock, and what may be a shortcut for Samsung’s new Bixby assistant.

Finally, there’s the feature that’s missing in this photo: the home button that’s been present on previous Galaxy S flagships. The fingerprint reader that used to be in the home button is rumored to be on the back of the Galaxy S8, to the right of its rear camera.
The rumored specs for the Galaxy S8 include a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display (with a 6.2-inch screen for the Galaxy S8+), 12-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front cameras, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD slot, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3000mAh battery. Samsung is expected to include Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 processor, too.
Nothing is official until Samsung says it is, but the Galaxy S8 is looking to be a big redesign for the company. Not only does is it rumored that Samsung is abandoning the home button that it’s used on many of its other Galaxy smartphones and adopting on-screen navigation buttons, but we’re also expecting a fingerprint reader to the right of the rear camera rather than below it like on many other devices, rounded display corners, and the lack of a flat-screen Galaxy S flagship. We’ll have to wait and see if these changes come together to form a good phone, but it will be interesting to see all of these features in action.
