Samsung to offer Android 7.0 Nougat beta for Galaxy S7 starting November 9
If you’re dying to get some Nougat on your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you can get a taste of the latest Android treat as early as this week.
Samsung’s Galaxy Beta Program will offer a test of Android 7.0 Nougat on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The beta will be available to select models of the GS7 and GS7 edge, including the T-Mobile versions as well as the Sprint and Verizon models.
According to Samsung, the beta test will begin on November 9 and run through the middle of December. To enroll your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge in the Android 7.0 beta, you’ll need to download the Galaxy Beta Program app from Galaxy Apps, submit an application form through that app, and then wait to see if you’ve been selected. Samsung also mentions creating a Samsung Account, which you can do right here.
Samsung isn’t saying much about its Android 7.0 update quite yet, only touting that it’ll have “new features and the latest UX.”
Because this is a beta, you should keep in mind that Samsung’s Android 7.0 beta release might be a bit buggy or unstable. The news that Samsung will offer a beta for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is exciting, though, especially since there’s no word yet on when the updates will be released to the public. So if you and your Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are eager for a taste of Nougat, be sure to get this Galaxy Beta Program app on Wednesday.
