We learned way back in October 2015 that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 would be updated to Android 6.0, but we haven’t heard much about the update since then. That’s changing today, and the news is good.
T-Mobile says that its Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is now being updated to Android 6.0.1, which will bump the device to software version T817TUVU2BPF1. T-Mo doesn’t have much of a changelog for the update, but because the Tab S2 is moving to Marshmallow, we know that the Tab S2 will be getting new features like Google Now on Tap and Doze battery optimizations.
The Tab S2’s update weighs in at a hefty 1022MB. It’s rolling out over the air, so it should just hit your device at some point in the near future. If you don’t feel like waiting to get your Marshmallow treat, though, you can also check for the update manually on the Tab S2 itself or by loading Samsung’s Smart Switch software onto your PC or Mac and hooking the Tab S2 up to your computer.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is a high-end Android tablet, so it’s good to see it receiving an update to Android 6.0, even if that update did take some time to finally arrive. If you’ve got a Tab S2, let us know when you update to Marshmallow!
