Following the horrific attacks in Paris, T-Mobile has announced that it’s making calling and texting to and from the US (including Puerto Rico) and France free for all Simple Choice postpaid customers. Communications between the US and France will be free from November 13 through November 15. If you do reach out to someone in France, note that you’ll see regular charges on your bill, but you’ll also get credits to cancel the charges out.
It’s nice to see T-Mobile making calling and texting to and from France so that anyone that may be affected by the Paris attacks can keep an open line of communication and not worry about racking up a huge bill. Keep in mind that T-Mobile specifically says that the free communications to and from France apply to postpaid Simple Choice customers. When Hurricane Patricia hit, the free calling and texting was extended to MetroPCS, GoSmart Mobile, and Walmart Family Mobile subscribers, but there’s no mention of those users in today’s announcement.
