It’s not often that we see a company release the same phone twice running two different operating systems, but it looks like that’s what Alcatel OneTouch is planning to do.
Images of the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL leaked today, showing a device that’ll be available both with Windows 10 Mobile and Android. The fronts of the two phones look largely similar, though the physical buttons at the bottom of the Fierce XL’s face differ depending on which OS it’s running.
As far as specs go, a previous leak suggested that the Windows 10 Mobile version of the Fierce XL will have a 5.5-inch 1280×720 display, Snapdragon 210 processor, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot, 2GB of RAM, and a 2500mAh battery. Also said to be included are 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras. While there’s been no concrete leak of the Android version’s specs, it’s entirely possible that it’ll have the same features as its Windows 10 Mobile counterpart.
One other thing that’s notable is that both models are said to be T-Mobile-bound. The aforementioned specs leak also mentioned VoLTE support for the Windows 10 Mobile version, and as before, it seems likely that the Android version will have features similar to the Windows model.
There’s no word yet on how much the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL might cost, but if it does indeed have features like a Snapdragon 210 and 2GB of RAM, it should be on the affordable side of things. That could make it a worthwhile option for folks that want a device with a big screen but not a big price.
The Fierce XL is tipped to launch in December.
