Last week, T-Mobile expanded its Android tablet lineup with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, an affordable and somewhat entry-level slate. Now T-Mo is going to follow that up with something a bit higher-end.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will launch at T-Mobile on September 3 at a price of $0 down, 23 monthly payments of $27.09, and 1 payment of $26.92. That adds up to a full price of $649.99.
The Galaxy Tab S2 features a 9.7-inch 2048×1536 Super AMOLED display and 2.1-megapixel camera on its face, as well as an 8-megapixel shooter on its rear. Packed inside of its 5.6mm-thick body is an octa-core processor, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, 3GB of RAM, and a 5870mAh battery. The Tab S2 runs Android 5.0 beneath Samsung’s custom UI.
In terms of connectivity, the LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab S2 includes 850/900/1900/2100MHz 3G support and 700/800/850/900/1800/1900/2100/2600MHz LTE support.
T-Mobile’s current lineup lacks a high-end Android tablet that can go head-to-head with the iPad, so it’s great to see the Galaxy Tab S2 changing that. It’s also worth noting that if you’d prefer a Wi-Fi-only tablet, Samsung will start taking pre-orders today for the Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab S2 in both 9.7-inch and 8-inch screen sizes, which are priced at $499 and $399, respectively.
