Along with the message that T-Mobile will be dropping the SIM Starter Kit to $0 for prepaid customers came news that the company is also dropping the price of one of its popular mid-range smartphones. It’s another deal aimed squarely at the prepaid customers, offering them the chance to pick up the LG Optimus L90 for just $49.99. The only caveat is that you need to buy it with an eligible prepaid plan that’s $40 or higher. But still, it’s a pretty sweet deal if you’re in the market for a decent low-cost prepaid device.
All in, customers walk out having paid $89.99 (plus taxes). That’s $49.99 for the phone, $40 for the first month of the prepaid plan, and $0 for the SIM Starter Kit. It’s a substantial saving on the previous all-in price of $154. From what we can tell from the memo, and from speaking with sources, this is in-store only and it’s available at corporate, branded stores and authorized T-Mo dealers.
Specs include:
- 4.7-inch qHD resolution display (540×960)
- Quad-core Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz processor
- 5MP rear camera with 1080p video
- VGA front facing camera
- 2,560mAh battery
- Self-healing back, protects against daily scrapes
It’s also worth noting that, although the device ships with Android 4.4 KitKat, it is now upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. You can see the full memo below:
