T-Mobile Wideband LTE goes live in New York City
Today, T-Mobile announced that its faster LTE network has gone live in the Big Apple. We started hearing of sightings in Brooklyn and Manhattan a few weeks back, and T-Mo officially confirmed that its Wideband LTE is now officially active in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island and greater Jersey City.
Other areas will be added soon. The company notes in its press release that all of Westchester County and New Jersey will be added in the near future.
“New Yorkers deserve a network that moves at the blazing speed of this amazing city. Our LTE network was already fastest here. Now, with the launch of Wideband LTE, we’ve widened our lead even further throughout the greater metro area,” said Neville Ray, Chief Technology Officer for T-Mobile. “We are working relentlessly to bring more Wideband LTE to more markets in 2015 for our customers to enjoy.”
T-Mobile stated this morning that its Wideband LTE is now alive and kicking in 27 major areas (or 120 markets) across the States. The full list include:
