T-Mobile has updated their support documents for both the T-Mobile G2 and myTouch 4G allowing for customers to walk into a local T-Mobile store and upgrade their device to Gingerbread. Beginning August 6th (August 13th for customers in the West and Midwest regions) any G2 or myTouch 4G owner can walk into a T-Mobile retail store to receive the Gingerbread update using an SD card provided by the store location. T-Mobile had originally planned on beginning this process August 5th but has pushed it back a few days for unknown reasons. Still, an extra day or two won’t hurt for those of you who have waited this long to receive Gingerbread goodness. Make sure to back up your phone before heading into your local store!
