Did you know that if you walk into a T-mobile with documentation that you can get one of the phones they offer, for cheaper somewhere elsewhere, T-mobile employees can price-match that competing store and give you the phone for the same price? Of course this only works with places you can physically go, such as Walmart, Best Buy, and Costco. Not online only companies such as Wirefly. Well this is the beginning of TmoNews bringing the best T-mobile deals to you whenever we find them. This week? This week Walmart takes the cake for providing the best deals. Here are some of WalMart’s offerings:

T-mobile Wing:

  • T-mobile - $300
  • Walmart - -$50 (Yes, there were supposed to be two - signs there. You actually make $50 with this device)

BlackBerry Curve:

  • T-mobile - $150
  • Walmart - -$50 (You make $50)

Samsung Blast:

  • T-mobile - Free
  • Walmart - -$75 (You make $75)

Nokia 5310:

  • T-mobile - $50
  • Walmart - -$50 (You make $50)

BlackBerry Pearl 8120:

  • T-mobile - $150
  • Walmart - Free

Click here to view the rest of the deals at Walmart.  To receive this deal in a T-mobile store, you must print out the page which shows you can get the phone for that price. Keep in mind that for any of the Smartphones, a $20/month data and e-mail plan is required to be eligible for the mail in rebate, however after you receive the rebate in 6-8 weeks, you can drop the plan. In the end, it will cost only $30-$40 for the plan. All you smart shoppers, keep sending in great deals! Many people pick T-mobile due to their competitive prices, and great deals. TmoNews will continue to do our best to find the best deals out there for T-mobile-ers. Enjoy!

Win free T-Mobile@Home service, year of rent/mortgage payments

Mystictrust on June 29th, 2008 | File Under Miscellaneous, T-mobile Promotions -

freedomfest

Interested in winning one year of free T-Mobile@Home service and mortgage or rent paid for that year? I’ll bet you do!! Well, one lucky winner in each of three locations for the T-Mobile@Home launch event (New York, Chicago, and Denver) will be walk..ing home with this fantastic prize package on July 2nd. That could be up to a $30,120 value for each winner! See, you know, the official rules state you can only get up to $30,000 for mortgage or rent… so if you own a ten million dollar mansion and are still paying it off, forget about assuming that T-Mobile will pick up that debt for the next year. Although if you do own a ten million dollar mansion and are reading this blog… we are now accepting donations from fine people such as yourself and would be honored to name you as a donator on this site.

The contest is available to legal residents of all 50 US states, but complete rules and details will be available at the event - that pretty much seems to mean you can’t just mail in an entry, or maybe you can but you won’t know where to send your entry form unless you’re at the event. Yeah, pointless. So if you’re near New York, Chicago, or Denver you might as well stop by… they’re also giving away free gifts and prizes as well as free food, games, and live music. Plan on attending? Bring your camera and let us know how it went by hitting the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page.

Nokia 5310 Unboxing

Nwahs on May 26th, 2008 | File Under Nokia 5310, T-mobile Promotions -

Normally we wouldn’t bring you this much news on one phone, but we have to admit, the somewhat-sexy 5310 definitely has impressed us much more then we expected. Again, in case you for some reason don’t know, we can expect the Nokia 5310 to be released on the 28th in Purple, Red, and Orange. Check the column to the right to see exactly how long until the phone is available* to purchase. Pictures include unboxing, accessories, and part of the Nokia music promotion also starting on the 28th. Check Nokia’s Promotional Site for the terms, conditions, and more.

Update: It turns out you do NOT have to purchase a new phone to enter into the contest!

Update 2: It looks like if you want to pick up a 5310 now, you can head over to Best Buy and pick one up. Sounds like they have had them there for the last two or three days.

*New phones are usually available when T-mobile stores open, and available at 12:00 PM on T-mobile.com. The countdown shows when we expect the phone to be available online.

Who hates contracts??

DarkJedi on May 23rd, 2008 | File Under FlexPay, T-mobile Promotions -

Well here we go all you flex pay lovers, starting May 26 - July 31 all new flexpay activations will receive a $25 dollar coupon toward the purchase of equipment. T-mobile is going to launch what they are describing as a promotional campaign designed to increase awareness of the flex-pay system. Unfortunately here is the real kicker: this offer is available in the Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston and Philadelphia markets only. Yup thats right, 5 whole cities get this special promotional offer. Obviously we hope for a larger, nationwide launch of this sometime in the near future but as of right now, the information we have pertains only to those markets. Pretty weak if you ask me, but maybe its a test for something big, much bigger. Whatever could that be?!

This promotion is exclusive to the Retail and Retail Partner Sales channels. Bonus points to anyone who catches pictures of the street teams which will be out and about handing out these flyers. I want some pictures on our forum pronto! Also, keep your eye out for specially marked vehicles advertising this no contract loving. Apparently door flyers and work-site lunchtrucks are also going to be around town. Door flyers rock, they always make me want to run right out and spend money.

Anyways since its almost 2:00am and I’m past the point of paying attention to what I am writing I am going to give you some viewing pleasure. No no, not the kind that requires a quarter.

Nokia Music Promotion launches with the 5310

Nwahs on May 21st, 2008 | File Under Nokia 5310, T-mobile Promotions -

The Nokia 5310 will be released on May 28th. But that is not all, on the same day, T-mobile will launch a huge Nokia Music Promotion. With T-mobile and Nokia teaming up, you can’t really go wrong, right? Customers who purchase a Nokia 5310 on or after May 28th will receive free downloads of themes, wallpapers, and other customizable features for their new music phones. But wait folks, thats not all! If you purchase a 5310, you will be able to head over to a promotional website, enter a number from the 5310 box, and be entered into T-mobile and Nokia ran contest. What does the winner get, you ask? Well it seems like there is not going to be one winner, but well over 10,000 winners (Could this be true?) of the grand price, which is a $100 Ticketmaster gift card, to bring yourself and a “Fave” to a concert. By the way, that is NOT the 5310 pictured above, here are some pictures of the upcoming device:

Have you talked to your mothers lately?

TNews on May 7th, 2008 | File Under T-mobile Promotions -

Looks like one of our favorite T-mobile gimmicks is coming back for a 2 day only special. Waived activation fees!! Here is the catch, the promotion will ONLY be offered via an advertisement on the MSN.com home page. From that point it will take you down a special purchase path which will waive the activation fee upon successful ordering.

Here are the bullet points for this mothers day two day special:

  • Advertised on the MSN home page only.
  • This offer will be honored via the Web and Telesales channels only.
  • Offer not available in T-Mobile Retail stores.
  • Price matching is not approved for Web and Telesales offers.
  • This offer is only for customers who activate a new line of service through T-Mobile.com.
    • Each new line of service will receive a waived activation fee.
  • FlexPay monthly contract customers are not eligible.

I guess I can’t complain, a waived activation fee is a waived activation fee, but come on, through msn.com only? I really want to know who still uses msn.com as a home page? Let us know in the comments, when is the last time you visited that site?

Thrown in with this is a change in the Nokia 6263 pricing, looks like it will drop free with a new 2 year activation. As of right now, the promotional pricing includes a mail in rebate, but no more for Mothers Day weekend this bad boy 3G phone (in NYC) is all free. This way when 3G launches in your city, your Mothers will let you know!

Upcoming Sale & T429 going PrePaid

TNews on April 20th, 2008 | File Under Samsung T429, T-Mobile To Go, T-mobile Promotions -

If you were thinking about switching to T-mobile, you might want to wait until April 25th. From April 25th to April 28th, all activation fees will be waived. Well, not exactly, but the $35 per line will be credited to your first bill. Spending $35 may seem trivial, but if you are activating 5 lines, the price jumps up to $175.

After this promotion ends, on April 30th, T-mobile will be launching a new PrePaid Pay As You Go service. Accompanying this launch will be the T429….which has, drum roll please, a VGA camera. I asked for a phone with a VGA camera back in 2002, thanks T-mobile, just what we always wanted. Get this, it’s a slider too, T-mobile just loves them sliders. PhoneScoop loved this phone so much, they wrote a whopping two sentences about it. Along with the amazing quality of a VGA camera, this phone has a speakerphone and hold onto your seats, GPRS data! We’re expecting pricing to be somewhere around $50-70 dollars when switched over to Pay As You Go.

Update: Just received news that the $18 upgrade fee will also be credited to your account between the 25th and 28th. Just in time to get the Scarlet Sidekick Slide!
