Motorola W450 coming to T-mobile

TNews on April 30th, 2008 | File Under Motorola W450 -

Don’t everyone get excited about this phone at once! Wait a second…does anyone even care? Well we just bring you the news, and todays news (Besides that 3G thing nobody cares about) is that the Motorola W450 (AKA Salina) is headed to T-mobile. Scheduled to come out near the beginning of August, the W450 really doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking, earth-shattering, or new. With a 1.3 MP camera, no 3G, and most likely no Hotspot@Home, we are having doubts regarding this release date. Why wouldn’t they release a low-end phone like this BEFORE they release 3G and Talkforever II? Keep your eyes on TmoNews for future T-mobile news (and hopefully a good reason T-mobile would carry this phone!).

3G in New York on May 1st

Nwahs on April 29th, 2008 | File Under T-mobile 3G -

Thats right T-mobile users, 3G is officially launched in New York on May 1st. Sorry for the lack of details, this is just a quick post on the go. We will have a follow up post in a few hours with some pictures when I have access to a computer. We have the pictures, and we’ll post them up as soon as possible. It is kind of tough to crop out sensitive data from your phone! From what we can tell, this will be mostly for Voice Calls and Internet. No new exciting 3G services as of yet, but more info to come soon!

Guess what Tony Hawk uses to text his friends?

TNews on April 28th, 2008 | File Under Tony Hawk Sidekick LX -

Thats right folks, Tony Hawk uses a Sidekick LX. We haven’t heard about Tony Hawk that much lately, but evidently he is important enough to have his own Sidekick, because coming on July 16th, the Tony Hawk Sidekick LX will be released. All you skater-texters rejoice, because this phone is made for you. We don’t have too many details other then it will be Tony Hawk branded, but we’re guessing the housing will be pretty durable to handle those messy spills while boarding. Right in time for the T-Mobile sponsored Boom Boom HuckJam!

T-mobile and Sony Ericsson kick it off right

TNews on April 27th, 2008 | File Under Sony Ericsson Bella -

After their long “break,” which they spent seeing other wireless providers, T-mobile and Sony Ericsson have finally rekindled their oh-so-hot relationship. Anyone know what this means? No, not quite romantic candles in all of T-mobile’s corporate stores. But we have the second best thing. The Sony Ericsson Bella will launch on T-mobile’s network on July 12th. Woah, a Saturday? The Curve was launched on a Saturday, but if you remember correctly, that was a fairly messy launch. We’ll wait for more details, but right now T-mobile has the mysterious and evasive Bella scheduled for July 12th. We’re definitely not counting out T-mobile changing this scheduled release date, as they often do when it is this far away. Stay tuned for more details!

Jackpot! Here comes the new Sidekick

TNews on April 27th, 2008 | File Under Sidekick Gekko (Aspen) -

Finally, a new sidekick!

Oh, so we have your attention now? Well here is what we know. It seems that there is either one device with two codenames, or two new Sidekick devices coming to T-mobile. There is evidence for an upcoming device called the “SK Gekko” on July 27th, while the “Sidekick Aspen” launches on July 30th. What, you ask, might either of these devices be? Well like we said, we’re still looking for more details. Once these (or this) phone(s) pass through the wonderful FCC filter, we should have some more information for you. 3G Hotspot@Home Sidekick anyone? We doubt it, but it never hurts to wish does it?

Rokr E8 and Prorated ETFs coming June 30th

TNews on April 25th, 2008 | File Under Motorola Rokr E8, T-Mobile Company News -

The Motorola Rokr E8 seems to be a device that cell phone users either hate or love. But this, you can’t hate: Prorated Early Termination Fees. Thats right folks, it looks like starting June 30th, T-mobile will not only offer you the Rokr E8, but they will begin prorating ETF. For those that don’t know what a prorated ETF is, it means that as you have less and less time in your contract, your early termination fee goes down. Here are some examples: 12 months - $300. 6 Months - $100. 2 Months - $25. These are not exactly what T-mobile will offer, but you get the idea. Sounds sweet huh? We’re excited! Check out the new “Rumors” page for more fun rumored upcoming phones and services!

FlexPay Update and more!

TNews on April 24th, 2008 | File Under FlexPay -

Very few people are familiar with T-mobile’s FlexPay plan, but those that are familiar with it, know that it is buggy, messy, and complicated. It looks like T-mobile caught on to this too, because coming this July is FlexPay 2.0. Sounds intense right? Flexpay 2.0 should fix all the annoying bugs and problems in the original Flexpay. T-mobile is so sure of it, they are launching a FlexPay ad campaign after to try to boost awareness of this product. Speaking of advertisements…does anyone notice how Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T all advertise coverage (America’s best network, America’s most powerful network, and Raising the bar), while T-mobile, well…T-mobile just doesn’t. Well coming this July (Deja Vu?) T-mobile is responding to this, by launching an ad campaign focused on T-mobile’s coverage. One more update, we promise, we’ll stop pestering you with all this information shortly. It looks like July will be a big month for T-mobile, as starting in July of 2008, T-mobile will be allowing users to block incoming SMS, a long-overdue feature for T-mobile customers. There you have it T-mobile users, FlexPay 2.0, Coverage Campaign, and SMS blocking.
